Top 5 Asian restaurants in the Nelson Mandela metro pole.
Having samples most of Asian and Thai restaurants; this is my take on the best 5 in Port Elizabeth and Uitenhage area. The criteria for judging are based mostly on flavour and authentic of dishes.
Thai Asian Food and Noodle CafeThere are not many authentic Thai food restaurants in the Nelson Mandela metro pole. Having said that, arguably the best Thai and Asian is found on the corner of Cuyler and Caledon Street in Uitenhage of all places. The beef stir fried noodles are awesome, not to mention their red and massaman curries.
Foo Jiu SushiWith the sushi craze sweeping the city and the rest of the country for that matter this small restaurant found in Heugh Road rules the roost. A very comprehensive sushi menu is prepared by two sushi masters who make it look easy. Originally this restaurant was situated in fountains mall Jeffreybay , so when they relocated the too PE this sushi lover jump for joy. They also have various Chinese favourites available, however try the tempura batter deep fried Sushi, all I can say is wow!
Mellas Dim-sum and Noodle BarLocated just off the bustling Stanley Street in Richmond Hill is Mellas Dim- sum and Noodle Bar. Specializing in dim -sum and few other Asian delights and curries. Mellas is well worth a visit. ">
Natti’s Thai KitchenLaid back! The easiest way to describe this place. Natty Thai Kitchen is a laid back restaurant found in Park Lane. The menu is written on a chalk board which alters according to produce available. Whatever is on that board is good. So take your own bottle of wine and enjoy. ">
Royal Siam Thai KitchenFound in Main Road in Walmer, this hidden gem offers authentic Thai. The dining area is intimate but takes nothing away from the experience. Also bring a bottle of wine as no liquor licence.
